Martin King| Senior Regulatory Consultant In Vitro Diagnostics | FiunEx

Mr. Martin King has worked with in vitro diagnostic medical devices since the 1980s. He brings extensive global experience from working throughout the whole life-science value chain. His strong business acumen and diverse technical engineering background; Electronics,
Software as a Medical Device, Mechanical Engineering and Materials science has guided him through 16 years of Medical Device and 10 Years of Pharmaceutical experience with 14 years in Hands-On Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs leadership roles for international organizations. He currently channels his skill-set in helping companies efficiently realize their goals while meeting Quality Assurance and Regulatory Objectives that are harmonized with their target markets; European, USA and Rest of the World. Martin is a Swiss citizen, born and Educated in England in microelectronics, electronic engineering and materials science, he graduated MSc from Middlesex Polytechnic, London.

Bijan Elahi | Award-winning, international educator, consultant, and author | Corporate Advisor on safety risk management of medical devices at Medtronic

Bijan Elahi has worked in risk management for medical devices for over 28 years at the largest medical device companies in the world, as well as small startups. He is a Technical Fellow, and the Medtronic corporate Advisor on safety risk management of medical devices. In this capacity, he offers education and consulting on risk management to all Medtronic business units, worldwide. Bijan is a lecturer at Drexel University (Philadelphia, USA) and at Eindhoven University of Technology (Netherlands), where he teaches risk management to doctoral students in engineering. He is the founder of MedTech Safety, Inc., an education and advisory company and has educated over 6,000 individuals with outstanding results. Bijan is a frequently invited speaker at international professional conferences, and is also a contributor to ISO 14971, the international standard on the application of risk management to medical devices. He is the author of the best‐selling book: Safety Risk Management for Medical Devices, published by Elsevier publishing.

Richard Houlihan is an international speaker on EUDAMED. His time running the IT teams developing EUDAMED in the European Commission has given him unrivalled insights into how it affects the MedTech industry. This EUDAMED experience and his 28 years in IT give him a real advantage when helping companies prepare for EUDAMED.

His company EirMed with the website eudamed.com provide ongoing EUDAMED support, training, and software to help the Manufacturers, Importers, European authorised reps, and Distributors meet their EUDAMED obligations. To date, Richard and his team have trained over a thousand people on EUDAMED and helped hundreds of companies with their preparations and data submissions to EUDAMED.

Dr Karthik Anantharaman | COO | Roche Pharma - Karnataka State Cluster

Dr Karthik Anantharaman is the Chief Operating Officer of Karnataka State Cluster with Roche Pharma, an innovation led Biopharmaceutical Company. He was previously the Director of E-Pharmacy & Private Label business at Medlife, India’s largest E-Health platform.

Karthik is a trained medical doctor with a degree in Internal Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) from Bangalore University, A post graduate MBA in Marketing from Manipal University & a super specialization MBA- GELP from Yale School of Management, Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Karthik is the recipient of “ 30 Top Influencers in Indian Healthcare Industry, Jan 2020”, “Most Influential Marketing Leaders” listing by World Marketing Congress twice in a row, in Nov 2015 & in Nov 2016, leading industry awards from Frost & Sullivan, Economic Times (ET) Best Healthcare Brands & Brand Trust Awards 2016.

He was earlier the Head of Business Unit (Metabolics/Branded Formulations/Biosimilars) at Biocon Ltd, an innovation driven global biotechnology company. His was earlier the Chief Marketing Officer of BPL Medical Technologies & Penlon Ltd, Goldman Sachs Portfolio Company. He has also led Marketing for GE Healthcare for Molecular Imaging & Computed Tomography business and has held senior managerial positions with leading pharmaceutical organizations like AstraZeneca & MSD (Merck & Co, NJ, USA).

Karthik was one of the core team members responsible for the launch of South Asia’s first patented primary care pharmaceutical brand, Januvia, which later went on to become the largest pharmaceutical launch of South Asia in 2008-09. Karthik has also had a stint as an entrepreneur launching one of India’s first Chronic Disease Management companies in 2010-11.
